GAPLA CONFERENCE AND NEWS
TOPIC: Implications of Brexit in Australia and Europe
Australian Institute of Company Directors

Date: 04 + 06 April 2019

Brexit is making headlines on a daily basis. At this stage, the UK is scheduled to leave the European Union without an exit agreement on 29 March 2019. The impacts of an unregulated Brexit are not yet foreseeable, but there is no doubt that a ‘no deal’ Brexit will have significant implications for the European Union and Australia.
At GAPLA’s annual conference we will consider and discuss the consequences of Brexit in Australia and the EU only one week after the UK is scheduled to leave the EU.
We are delighted to bring together experienced legal practitioners and highly regarded academics who will discuss Brexit and give an overview of recent developments in different sectors in Australia and the EU, including immigration law, employment law, private international law, intellectual property, innovation and international trade policy.
The conference will also include an exciting social program including a pre-conference dinner at Brisbane’s buzzing Howard Smiths Wharves and a visit to the Brisbane Gallery of Modern Art.
We hope you can join us for this informative and up-to-date event. The conference program with more details and the registration form are attached.
Please feel free to forward this invitation to colleagues who may be interested in this topic.
